Year 1 2022 - 2023
Welcome to Year 1 Class
Welcome to Year 1 with Miss Wallwork.
Children have been given a reading record. Please can you sign the booklet in the correct row to show that your child has read at least three times a week. We aim to read with children at least twice per week at school. Please ensure your child brings their book and reading record each day.
Also, the children have been given a Number bond card or a multiplication card. It would be great if you could improve the fast recall of each times table/number bond. These will be tested weekly.
Weekly spellings will be given to the children on Friday and tested on the following Friday. Please can children ensure they have their Pirate spelling books in school.
Weekly homework will be given to the children on Wednesday and should be returned the following Tuesday, it will then be marked a new piece be given out the following day. Please can children ensure they complete and return their red homework file.
On PE day, the children can come to school in their PE kit. Our class have PE on Monday and Friday this half term.
Our project title for this half term is entitled Bright Lights, Big City. At the front of the independent research log book, we have included a curriculum map of the areas being covered connected to this project. We hope this helps to ensure you are aware of what your child is learning this half term. Please see our curriculum newsletter and knowledge organisers for further information.
We thank you for all your support in helping your child achieve their full potential this year!
