PSHE
At Horwich Parish.
Personal, social, health and economic, (PSHE) education is an embedded part of our broad, balanced and exciting curriculum.
Pupil spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development is at the very heart of our schools distinctively Christian Vision, encouraging all pupils to flourish and to ‘Let their light shine’ both individually and collectively in God’s love.
Our PSHE curriculum encompasses both our Christian and British Values developing children’s sense of identity and responsibility.
At Horwich Parish, PSHE is a planned development programme of learning, through which children acquire their knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to grow and thrive in their lives now and in the future.
Children will begin to understand themselves and others, form positive relationships and make informed choices that support their wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around them. We also encourage children to think with empathy, integrity and self-awareness, recognising how their actions and attitudes contribute to their communities. Learning experiences help them to develop respect for diversity, key strategies to manage change and an understanding of their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
