Year 4 2022 - 2023
Welcome to Summer 1 in Year 4
Just a few reminders...
Planners
Your child must continue to bring their planner to school every day. These contain all the passwords they need as well as allowing us to check that they have read three times a week - don't forget to sign!
Reading
Your child is able to choose a book from our class library or they can bring one in from home. They are encouraged to read their book throughout the day as well as at home. We also encourage the children to access Reading Plus at least once a week at home to promote the development of their reading skills.
Our class novel this half term is Anglo-Saxon Boy by Tony Bradman.
Times Tables
In June, the children are tested on their times tables. They all have a multiplication card and are expected to practise their tables as often as possible, both at home and in school.
PE
Our PE days are on a Tuesday and a Friday.
Children come to school wearing their full PE kit on these days.
Spellings and Homework
Spellings are given out weekly and tested weekly. They are written/stuck in the children's planners. Both classes spelling test days are a Monday.
Homework is updated weekly on MyMaths and Spag.com.
Each half term, the children will be asked to complete some activities around our Foundation Subject. This half term, we are looking at Anglo-Saxons.
We hope this information helps! If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on our email year4@horwichparish.net
Thank you for your continued support.
