Welcome to Y1 with Miss Hargreaves and Mrs Ogilvie.

The children will continued to be welcomed and dismissed from the top door of the infant building near the main school gate.

Please make sure your child brings a coat, reading planner with their book and a filled water bottle every day. Children will continue to have fruit during morning break but if you wish for your child to bring their own snack this must be healthy and nut free.

Each week the children will be provided with a piece of English and Maths homework to complete and return at the latest by the following Thursday. New homework will be set and sent out on Fridays. English based homework will be reading and spellings, Maths based homework will be 1 Mintue Maths and Numbots.

Please sign your child's planner to show that they have read at least three times a week. We will continue to work on fluency and expression, and will further develop our understanding of the text we are reading using a variety of comprehension activities in school.

Weekly spellings will be given to the children on Friday and tested on the following Friday, the spellings will continue to be in the planners.

On PE days, the children can come to school in their PE kit. Our class have PE on Tuesday and Thursday this half term.

Our project title for this half term is 'Knight's Quest'.
