Head teacher message

Hello

Our Safety council led our whole school assembly on Tuesday as part of our work on “Safer Internet Day”. They reminded us about how to behave online and what to do if we feel unsafe. Thank you to the council and Miss Evans for reminding us about keeping safe online. The council also showed the children the winning school logo that will be placed on every piece of IT eqipment in school as a reminder.

On Wednesday year 1 dressed up as Aliens as part of their topic work. The children and staff looked wonderful with lots of blue face paint on show!!!

Also on Wednesday Miss McEwan, Rev Nicola, myself and four of our worship group travelled to Bolton Parish Church for the morning. We joined fifteen other schools to celebrate each other`s christian ethos work. Well done to Eleanor Shawcross for speaking to the audience. The children represented the school brilliantly and returned with goodie bags. We have brought back to school lots of ideas so watch this space!

Today sixteen of our children represented the school in school in a year 5 & year 6 swimming gala at Horwich leisure Centre. The children swam fanatastically and although we didn’t win the competition each child tried their very best and there were certainly some tired swimmers sat eating their lunch today!!Thank you to Mrs Russell and Mrs Ince for supporting the chidlren.

As I write this newsletter Year 4 are currently in Chester on a trip to support their topic work. We look forward to welcoming them back this afternoon.

We have had a really busy half term. The children have worked hard and the staff as always have gone above and beyond.

May I wish everyone a restful half term break.
