Year 1/2 - Mrs Taylor 2022 - 2023

Welcome to Y1/2T. The class teacher is Mrs Taylor and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Mason and Mrs Kara.

Please make sure your child is sent into school each day with a coat, reading folder and a filled water bottle.

Homework is given out on Friday . Each week the children will be provided with English and Maths homework online to complete and return at the latest by the following Thursday.

Please sign your child's planner to show that they have read at least three times a week. We will continue to work on fluency and expression, and will further develop our understanding of the texts we are reading using a variety of comprehension activities.

Also, the children have been given a Number bond card or a Multiplication card. It would be great if you could improve the fast recall of each number story and times table.

Weekly spellings will be given to the children on Friday and tested on the following Friday. This year the spellings will be in the planner.

On PE days, the children can come to school in their PE kit . Our class have PE on Monday and Tuesday this half term.

Our project title for this half term is entitled Seasons.This is a Geography based project and we will able to name the 4 seasons and describe some differences. We will be learning the months of the year and the seasons that they are in. Please see our curriculum newsletter and knowledge organisers for further information.
