Class R/1M 2022 - 2023

Dear Parents and carers,

Please see the above tab marked 'Autumn' for details of our current topic and learning within discrete subject areas.

Our PE days will be on Tuesday and Thursday this term, the children may come dressed in their PE clothes on those days. PE can be indoors or outdoors, so as the weather remains cool, we would recommend that the children come to school in black joggers, a white top and their school sweatshirt or cardigan, or a black tracksuit top, in line with the uniform policy.

As some of the children have just started in Reception please can we ask parents to encourage their child(ren) to practise doing their coats and going to the toilet independently.

The Reception children will have snack during the first half of the morning, before playtime. Parents can pay for the snack via ‘ParentPay’. ‘ParentPay’ logins will be sent out in the coming weeks. The children will have toast, crumpets, cereal, yoghurt and cheese and crackers. The children are welcome to have free fruit from school whenever they would like and there is also milk and water for the children to help themselves. Year 1 children are welcome to have free fruit during playtime.

We will continue to communicate via email as necessary for the year 1 children, general messages will be sent to all parents via SchoolSpider.

We will not be using the Tapestry app with the Year 1 children this year. They will be recording more of their learning in their books this year, which parents will be able to see regulary open afternoons throughout the year.

We will add information to the Tapestry app for the Reception children to give you a flavour of aspects of our learning over the coming week. We also love to read your contributions to your child's journal via the app, children will be encouraged to talk about what they have been doing at home, so please upload photos to Tapestry so that they children can share this with their friends.
